In this role, youll work closely with a medically fragile 5th-grade student, providing essential 1:1 support throughout the school day, including bus transportation. This unique position begins in late October and continues through the end of the school year.

Key Qualifications:

Active RN license with current credentials in Illinois Prior experience with tracheostomy and ventilator care required Strong clinical judgment and ability to respond calmly in emergency situations Excellent communication skills for collaborating with educational staff, families, and healthcare professionals Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to support pediatric patients in an educational environment

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver 1:1 nursing care for a medically fragile elementary student Monitor and document vital signs, medication administration, and health status throughout the school day Provide expert trach and vent care, ensuring safety and comfort for the student at all times Accompany and supervise the student during bus transportation to and from school Serve as an essential liaison between school personnel, therapy providers, and the student's family Maintain accurate and timely records according to nursing standards and school protocols This contract role offers an hourly pay rate around $40, reflecting your specialized expertise and commitment.
