A PACU Registered Nurse cares for patients as they recover from surgery and anesthesia. Works in hospital recovery rooms, monitoring and caring for post-operative patients, and communicating with patients' family members. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, as part of a PACU nursing team.

Job Description

Work Schedule:
100% FTE, Monday through Thursday, 10-hour shifts. Department hours of 5:00am-8:00pm or until last patient is discharged. Staff will be cross trained for Pre op, Post op and Phase 2 recovery. You will work at UW Health Belvidere Hospital 1625 S State St Additional components of compensation may include: Evening, night, and weekend shift differential Overtime On-call pay At UW Health in northern Illinois, you will have:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing program. Required
  • Must provide copy of HS diploma or equivalent, or highest level of completed degree obtained. Required Work Experience
  • Float Pool Only - Cardiac Tele or Critical Care experience. Preferred Licenses & Certifications
  • Current RN licensure to practice in the State of Illinois. Required
  • Bi-annual CPR certification. Required
  • Specialty certification in area of concentration.
