1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring an active IL license, 2+ years of L&D experience, and NRP certification. Details Work in the Alternate Birthing Center (LDRP) unit of a Level 2 trauma acute care hospital Unit consists of 12 LDRP rooms and 2 triage rooms with 700 deliveries per year Patient population includes labor (vaginal or c-section), postpartum, and level II nursery newborns Follows AWHONN staffing ratios of 1:1 for labor and 1:3 for couplet care Uses
EPIC EMR
system Uses Obix EFM system with Philips monitors for fetal monitoring Utilizes CPAP for level II nursery patients with RT assistance for set-up 12-hour night shifts scheduled 7p-730a Required to work every other weekend (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday nights) Required to work every other holiday Floating required hospital-wide as needed under a team nursing model No call or standby requirements Charge RN on each shift does not take a patient assignment OB techs and unit secretaries support the unit, with 1 OB tech on night shift Neonatology provider in house 24/7 Requirements Active IL RN license required Current BLS and NRP certifications required Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Labor & delivery experience required Experience in all LDRP and nursery areas preferred BSN not required for this position Negative drug screen required for all panels Additional Information Provide direct nursing care for laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients in an LDRP setting Assist with CPAP setup and monitoring for level II nursery patients alongside RT support Unit-specific orientation consists of 2-3 shifts depending on traveler experience Hospital-provided scrubs required for dress code Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are eligible for a reduced local pay rate No radius rule restricts eligibility for this position COVID vaccination is not required for this position Facility operates as a Drug-Free Campus
