As needed, with a commitment of 32-72 hours per 6-week schedule The Staff Nurse provides safe, compassionate care across patient populations by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. They collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal outcomes and continuity of care. Assess patient conditions, develop and document care plans, and evaluate outcomes. Welcome patients, promote a safe environment, and ensure timely documentation. Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges through collaboration with referral departments. Engage with patients, families, and providers to gather data and incorporate medical issues into treatment plans. Participate in department goal development, quality improvement, and professional development activities. Assist in hiring, training, and supervising staff, serving as a role model and resource. Attend training sessions, explain policies, and engage with community groups to promote mental health awareness. Supervise direct care as needed, working within budget constraints.

Qualifications:

Nursing degree and current Illinois RN license. CPR certification; CPI certification within 90 days of hire.

Preferred:

psychiatric experience, knowledge of abnormal psychology, and therapeutic systems management. Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professional competence.
