1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring an active IL RN license and at least 2 years of ER experience in a Level I Trauma Center. Details Level 1 Trauma Center Emergency Department with 28 beds, including 11 hallway beds and 4 triage rooms Average of 120 patient visits per day Patient population includes sepsis, DKA, MI, stroke, IVDA, ETOH, ortho-trauma, and all trauma types Predominantly geriatric patients (65+) with multiple comorbidities, plus heavy psych and addiction population Emergency acuity is heavy 2-3's on the emergency scale RN patient ratio of 1:3-6 based on acuity ER Tech ratio of 1:14 based on acuity Rotating shifts of 10a-10p and 2p-2a 36 standard hours per week Weekend rotation of every 3rd weekend No floating required No on-call requirements Holiday coverage required for 50% of holidays in the contract Self-scheduling process after schedule is balanced by staff Requirements Active IL RN license required Minimum 2 years of ER experience required Level I Trauma experience preferred but not required Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and
TNCC CPI/MOAB
certification preferred Trauma certification required Experience with stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, vent management, critical care drips, TPA administration, conscious sedation, and splinting assistance Basic nursing skills including NGT placement, IV starts, foley placement, and wound care Strong assessment and communication skills with focus on positive patient experience
