A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Job Description

We're looking for a dependable, compassionate LPN for a long-term, in-home patient care position (neither hospice nor visits). Paid through the Division of Rehabilitation Services Home Services Program, (DRS-HSP), this highly flexible job is ideal for nurses who prefer a more personal home-care environment with a 1:1 nurse-patient ratio, instead of working in a facility. Primary openings are for days or overnights. Recent LPN and RN students and graduates are encouraged to apply.
Pay rate:
LPNs
  • $30.00/hr, raises are given every January and July Insurance offered:
  • Medical insurance provided for free after probationary period of full-time work.
  • Vision and Dental assistance also available
Location :
Marion, Illinois Shifts :
The exact configuration of shifts can be negotiated, but we're seeking some combination of the following: 1. Part-time Nights, 7p-7a or 10p-7a, ~2-3 shifts/wk. 2. Part-time Days, 7a-7p; ~2-3 shifts/wk.
  • Preference given to those willing to work nights
  • Must be able to perform short-distance transfers of 100 pounds
  • Case-specific requirements:
  • Heavy emphasis on respiratory care (sterile suctioning, ventilator troubleshooting, breathing treatments, etc.)
  • ADLs
  • Medication administration
  • Infection control
  • Care coordination between other members of the patient's health team (doctors, DME providers, pharmacies, etc.)
  • Helping the patient live their fullest life possible
  • Adequate training provided for all tasks required.
  • New grads in the process of obtaining their license are encouraged to apply While not required, immunizations against the flu and
