OF POSITION
+ The Operating Room Staff Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who is responsible for the direct and indirect total nursing care of the patient while in the operating room or treatment room. This position requires on call rotation with 60 minute response time. + + QUALIFICATIONS + Professional/Educational + Current Illinois license with biennial renewal and required CEUs. + Previous experience in operating room or related area preferred. + Thorough knowledge of principles of asepsis. + Certified by the American Heart Association in Cardiopulmonary resuscitation ( CPR ). + Basic computer skills. + DCFS Mandated Reporter Certificate of Completion required. + Personal + Maintains good physical and emotional well-being. + Possesses personal qualities such as kindness, sympathy, understanding, respect, good judgement, integrity, loyalty, a sense of humor and an ability to relate effectively to patients, their families, and staff. + Evidence of knowledge and ability to use proper channels of communication. + Willingness to participate in call schedule and work irregular hours as necessary. + Realizes that errors or incompetency may cause serious complications for patients and appreciates the importance of setting a good example for others. Actual pay will be determined by qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
