Job Description

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Registered Nurse, as an integral member of the patient care team, functions as the coordinator of patient care for childbearing patients/families within the single room maternity care philosophy. Supervises, directs and delegates to other patient care team members. Has accountability for gynecological surgical and childbearing patient/family care, outcomes, and customer satisfaction. Serves as a clinical expert, role model, resource, supervisor and care integrator for the surgical and childbearing patient and her family.
QUALIFICATIONS
Professional/Educational Current Illinois license with biennial renewal. Minimum of one year of LDRP or LDR experience required. Basic electronic fetal heart monitoring class preferred. Certified by the American Heart Association in Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Certified in infant resuscitation (NRP) within 30 days of hire. DCFS Mandated Reporter Certificate of Completion required. Personal Maintains good physical and emotional well being. Possesses the ability to handle emergency situations. Demonstrates leadership and teaching ability. Works effectively with others.
