1 Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced Acute Dialysis RN with hemodialysis expertise for a 12-hour day shift assignment at a Level 1 trauma center. Details Work in a 9-bed dialysis suite within a Level 1 trauma center hospital, with treatments also performed at patient bedside depending on level of care, treatment type, and isolation status Care for gen/med surg patients requiring dialysis; off-unit runs in ICU or stepdown units are handled by bedside RN and RT Patient ratios range from 1:1 up to 1:5 with dialysis tech assistance Uses Fresenius 2008T hemodialysis machines
EMR:
EPIC 12-hour day shifts Every other Saturday required, with approximately one Sunday every 8 weeks Every other holiday required; unit closed Thanksgiving and Christmas No call or standby requirement May float to gen/med surg floors only as helping hands, sitter, or behavioral health monitor without direct patient assignment Requirements Active IL RN license required BLS (AHA) certification required Minimum 1 year of experience required Competency in running hemodialysis treatments on Fresenius 2008T required Strong physical assessment skills required Must produce a negative drug screen for all panels Additional Information Run dialysis treatments and monitor patients throughout treatment Charge nurse and house supervisor available on each shift Dialysis techs support patient care on the unit Orientation includes 1-3 days with a preceptor to the medical center and unit, depending on skill level and comfort Patients on the unit may use CPAP or BIPAP for sleep; RNs are not required to read telemetry Scrub dress code allows any color, but top and bottom must match Local candidates accepted; local rate applies to clinicians with a permanent address within 50 miles of the facility No radius rule for eligibility COVID vaccination not required for this facility
