This contract role is designed for registered nurses who excel in both assessment and intervention, bringing critical thinking and communication skills to meet patients' evolving needs across a diverse caseload.
Essential qualifications and experience:
Active, unrestricted RN license in good standing Minimum of one year recent experience in a medical-surgical (Med Surg) setting Excellent assessment, triage, and care-planning abilities Strong communication and collaboration skills to interact with interdisciplinary teams and families Proficiency in electronic health record documentation Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospital environment Current BLS certification; additional certifications (such as ACLS) are an asset Key responsibilities: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for adult patients on a Med Surg unit Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and comfort Monitor, record, and report changes in patients' conditions to physicians and allied health professionals Provide patient education and support to patients and their families Maintain accurate and timely documentation in line with hospital protocols and regulatory requirements Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated care Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality standards at all times Seize the opportunity to contribute to patient well-being in a supportive hospital environment.
