Epic Position Overview Registered Nurses (RNs) for contract assignments within its Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Step-Down ICU units in Rockford, Illinois. The ideal candidate will have strong critical care nursing experience, preferably gained in a Level I Trauma Center , and must be comfortable floating between the ICU and Step-Down ICU based on patient care needs. This position requires a highly skilled and adaptable RN who can provide safe, evidence-based care to critically ill and medically complex patients while collaborating effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill and step-down patients in accordance with established standards of practice. Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care. Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care and achieve optimal clinical outcomes. Administer medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with physician orders, hospital policies, approved nursing practices, and applicable state laws. Monitor patients closely, recognize changes in clinical condition, and promptly escalate concerns through the appropriate chain of command. Develop, initiate, and execute individualized plans of care based on patient and family needs. Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and ongoing care. Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the electronic medical record. Minimum Qualifications Current and active Illinois RN license . Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience . Strong ICU/Critical Care experience; Level I Trauma Center experience is strongly preferred. Previous experience caring for critically ill patients and/or Step-Down ICU patients.
