This contract nursing opportunity offers you the chance to make a real difference, ensuring every child has access to safe, responsive care each school day. Youll serve in a valued school-based setting, collaborating closely with staff, students, and families. Ideal candidates will have a current RN license, with a background in school nursing highly desirable. While a Certified School Nurse (CSN) credential is an advantage, it isnt required. Those with LPN credentials may be considered but preference is given to RNs due to the scope of responsibility.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

Active RN license in Illinois (required) Experience in a school or pediatric healthcare setting (preferred) Certification as a School Nurse (CSN) considered a plus Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently Current CPR and First Aid certification

Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct care to students, including assessment, triage, and intervention for injuries and illnesses Administer prescribed medications and treatments following physician orders and district protocols Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with state and school guidelines Support health education initiatives, collaborating with teachers and counselors Serve as a health resource for students, families, and staff within the school community Assist in the development and implementation of healthcare plans for students with special needs Imagine building meaningful connections with students while developing your professional skills in a collaborative and supportive educational setting.
