Job Description

Make a meaningful impact on students' lives in a supportive school environment by providing expert nursing care throughout the upcoming fall semester. This full-time, onsite contract opportunity spans from August 19th to October 9th, and is ideally suited for a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) or Certified School Nurse (CSN) who thrives on fostering student well-being in the educational setting.
Key Qualifications:
Active Illinois RN license or Certified School Nurse (CSN) certification required Previous experience in school nursing or with pediatric populations strongly preferred Familiarity with Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and emergency care procedures Compliance with any state or district-specific credentials, such as Professional Educator License (PEL) if requested Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to collaborate with students, families, and multidisciplinary school teams
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver direct nursing care and triage for students and staff during the school day Administer medications, manage chronic conditions, and respond to medical emergencies Support student health screenings, immunization compliance, and health education efforts Maintain accurate, confidential health records according to district and state policies Collaborate with educators, counselors, and external providers to create a safe, healthy school environment Educate students and families on health and wellness practices
