In this flexible PRN role, you'll perform comprehensive assessments, administer medications, manage ventilators and wound care, and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to LTAC patients including assessments, medication administration, and wound care Monitor, interpret, and document patient status, vital signs, and clinical changes in accordance with facility protocols Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans Manage complex, high-acuity cases including ventilator-dependent and medically fragile patients Educate patients and families on treatment plans, recovery goals, and ongoing care needs Maintain accurate, timely electronic health records and ensure compliance with regulatory and facility standards Follow infection control, safety, and quality protocols to ensure a safe patient care environment Support coordination of admissions, transfers, and discharges within the LTAC setting Required Skills Acute care nursing LTAC patient management Ventilator management Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) Wound care and dressing changes IV therapy and medication administration Patient and family education Electronic health records (EHR) documentation Infection control and safety protocols Interdisciplinary care coordination
