In this vital role, you will provide expert nursing care to patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), ensuring their safety, comfort, and recovery through advanced clinical skills and compassionate support. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your expertise makes a meaningful difference in patients' lives. The ideal candidate will be energized by challenging cases, thrive under pressure, and demonstrate a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered care. Duties Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing ventilators and other life-support equipment. Perform detailed patient assessments, interpret physiological data, and develop individualized care plans aligned with best practices and hospital protocols. Utilize advanced skills such as airway management, IV infusion, catheterization, suturing, and aseptic technique to support patient recovery. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including physicians, respiratory therapists, and case managers—to coordinate treatment plans and ensure seamless patient care transitions. Document all patient interactions accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems adhering to HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards. Respond swiftly to emergencies using critical care response procedures, including trauma medicine protocols and acute pain management strategies. Participate in ongoing training and quality improvement initiatives focused on infection control, trauma medicine, infectious disease care, and NCQA standards compliance. Requirements Valid nursing license with current registration; minimum of two (2) years ICU experience is required. Demonstrated expertise in critical care procedures such as ventilator management, cardiac catheterization support, telemetry monitoring, and ICU-specific assessments. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems, familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) is preferred. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to intensive care settings. Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics and individuals with developmental disabilities or complex chronic conditions. Ability to perform invasive procedures such as venipuncture, phlebotomy, tube feeding management, sterile processing techniques, and ostomy care when necessary. Excellent communication skills for triage assessments, patient education on pain management or hospice & palliative medicine options, and discharge planning. Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Procedures (NRP), and other relevant specialties are highly desirable. Join us in delivering top-tier critical care by applying your expertise in a collaborative environment that values your dedication!
