Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Infusion Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will deliver specialized infusion therapy to patients across various settings, ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care. Your expertise will support patient recovery, manage complex medication administration, and promote positive health outcomes. Duties Administer intravenous (IV) infusions, including medications, fluids, and nutrients, following strict aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Assess patient conditions through comprehensive physical examinations and vital signs monitoring to determine appropriate infusion plans. Educate patients and their families about infusion procedures, medication effects, and post-treatment care to foster understanding and compliance. Maintain accurate medical documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including physicians, pharmacists, and case managers—to develop and adjust individualized treatment plans. Monitor for adverse reactions or complications during infusions, responding swiftly with appropriate interventions. Ensure all equipment is sterile, properly maintained, and ready for use; perform catheter care and troubleshoot technical issues as needed. Qualifications Valid nursing license (RN) or equivalent in the applicable state or region. Proven experience in IV infusion therapy, with knowledge of aseptic technique and venipuncture procedures. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for accurate documentation. Experience working in diverse healthcare environments including hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, home care, or long-term care facilities. Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy knowledge, medication administration protocols, and diagnostic evaluation techniques. Additional skills preferred include critical care experience (ICU or trauma centers), oncology infusion expertise (including botulinum toxin treatment), infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine knowledge, and familiarity with ICD coding standards (ICD-10/ICD-9). Excellent patient assessment skills combined with compassionate communication to support patient comfort and safety.
