• Intermediate 2D Job Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care to patients in a neurological/intermediate care setting.

The RN is responsible for assessment, care planning, implementation, evaluation, patient and family education, medication administration, and coordination of care. The RN utilizes clinical judgment, critical thinking, evidence-based practice, and the nursing process to provide safe, effective care while recognizing changes in patient condition and collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members. Key Responsibilities Perform and document comprehensive nursing assessments and ongoing reassessments based on patient condition, age, and developmental needs. Assess neurological status and recognize changes in patient condition, promptly communicating significant findings to the appropriate healthcare team. Identify patient risk factors, presenting concerns, and priority nursing needs. Develop, prioritize, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care. Administer medications, IV therapies, treatments, and other nursing interventions safely and within scope of practice. Monitor patient responses to medications, procedures, and clinical interventions. Provide appropriate nursing care for patients with neurological conditions and complex medical needs. Monitor vital signs, neurological status, pain, functional status, and other relevant clinical parameters. Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient status or potential complications. Perform nursing procedures, including wound care, IV therapy, and other treatments as required. Explain procedures, treatments, medications, and care plans to patients and families. Provide patient and family education based on individual needs and level of understanding. Establish priorities and effectively manage care for multiple patients according to acuity and clinical needs. Coordinate patient care with physicians, therapists, case management, and other interdisciplinary team members. Delegate appropriate tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff and monitor completion and accuracy of delegated care. Facilitate admissions, transfers, and discharges in accordance with hospital policies. Provide discharge education and coordinate follow-up care and resources as appropriate. Maintain accurate, timely, and complete documentation in the electronic medical record. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety activities, audits, and core measures. Promote patient safety, infection prevention, fall prevention, and regulatory compliance. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality. Promote a positive, respectful, and healing environment for patients, families, and coworkers. Demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, teamwork, and effective communication. Practice nursing in accordance with hospital policies, professional standards, evidence-based practices, and applicable regulations. Required Skills & Experience No prior experience required. Preferred Experience:

Previous nursing experience is preferred but not required.

Education Required:

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
