Postpartum Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in family-centered care for mothers and newborns in a hospital setting.
Responsibilities:
Assess maternal and neonatal health, administer medications, support breastfeeding, perform newborn assessments, educate families on postpartum and infant care, respond to emergencies, collaborate with healthcare teams, and maintain accurate documentation.
Qualifications & Skills:
Minimum of one year recent postpartum RN experience, valid RN license, current BLS and NRP certifications; preferred ACLS certification. Must demonstrate critical thinking, effective communication, technical proficiency, physical ability to handle equipment and move patients, and ability to work under pressure with attention to detail.
Key Duties:
Explain care procedures, monitor health status, assist with procedures, educate parents, ensure safety and comfort, and perform assigned tasks within scope of practice.
