What they do

A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Job Description

Duties:
  • Administer IV infusion therapyies and injectables to patients with rare, chronic and acute diseases within the infusion suite.
  • Monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding infusion therapy
  • Perform sterile processing of equipment and maintain infection control standards
  • Proficiency in accessing and maintaining PICC lines/implanted ports while maintaining proper infection control measures.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of patient care and coding
Skills:
  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum of two years of critical care/ER or oncology experience is preferred.
  • Mininum of one year of recent infusion experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of infection control practices and sterile processing techniques
  • Familiarity with IV infusion therapy protocols and equipment
  • This position requires a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse who can provide safe and effective infusion therapy to patients.
