Position Title Oncology Research Nurse KU Clinical Research Center 4350 Position Summary /
Career Interest:
Part Time Days- Monday
- Friday 20 hours/week The Oncology Nurse provides professional nursing care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
Infusion/Treatment Depts:
demonstrates knowledge and skills in chemotherapy/biotherapy and blood products.Radiation Oncology Depts:
demonstrates knowledge of radiation therapies and procedures, including side effect and symptom managment. Demonstrates ability to triage patients and coordinate with provider to ensure care needs are met. Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department. Required Education and Experience High School Graduate Associate Degree Nursing Must complete BSN within 5 years of hire Preferred Education and Experience Bachelor Degree Nursing 1 or more years med surg/acute care 1 or more years oncology experience Required Licensure and Certification Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS)- American Heart Association (AHA) Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN)

- State Board of Nursing Must have current active multistate state Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing in state in which you live. Staff hired prior to 2/1/2024 are required to obtain a multistate state RN license from the state in which they live at the time of their next RN license renewal by 4/30/2026. Preferred Licensure and Certification Chemo Certification
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Certification preferred for Infusion/Treatment departments
