Chris Ellis RN/OR Director and Jodi Miller RN/DON Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Post-Operative Nurse with previous surgical experience to join our team on a part-time basis. We provide a range of outpatient ambulatory surgical procedures at MHC. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) procedures and provide high-quality care to patients as they recover from surgery. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a flexible schedule with no weekend, holiday, or on-call shifts.Key Responsibilities:
Monitor patients' vital signs, oxygen levels, and overall health post-surgery. Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring patient safety. Provide patient education and emotional support to both patients and their families. Assess patients' condition and respond to changes in vital signs or surgical complications. Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare staff to ensure coordinated care. Prepare patients for discharge by providing post-operative instructions and follow-up care information. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control standards.Required Qualifications:
Registered Nurse (RN) with current state licensure. Previous experience in a surgical or PACU setting required. Strong knowledge of PACU procedures and post-operative care protocols. Excellent critical thinking, communication, and assessment skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Experience in handling post-surgical complications and emergency situations. Why Join Us?Flexible work schedule:
