Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse to provide exceptional acute care across diverse healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in emergency medicine, critical care, and trauma response, with the flexibility to adapt to various hospital environments. As a Travel ER Nurse, you will deliver comprehensive patient assessments, administer life-saving interventions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. RN EMERGENCY ROOM
Shift:
12-hours Days Shift details: 6.00 AM to 6.00 PM 36 hours/week. (3
  • 12) 13-week assignment Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and physical examinations, to determine immediate care needs.
Administer medications, IV infusions, and injections following established protocols and safety standards. Manage airway maintenance, ventilator support, and aseptic techniques during emergency procedures. Conduct diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory testing, specimen collection, and interpreting diagnostic imaging results including CT scans and sonography. Provide acute pain management and assist with procedures like suturing, catheterization, and ostomy care. Document all patient interactions accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with physicians and specialists in trauma medicine, infectious disease care, and hospice & palliative medicine to develop comprehensive treatment plans. Support triage processes by prioritizing patient needs efficiently in fast-paced emergency room environments at Level I or Level II trauma centers. Engage in ongoing education related to ICD coding (ICD-9/10), medical terminology, and advanced life support techniques to maintain certification standards. Experience Proven experience working in emergency room settings with a focus on trauma medicine and critical care environments. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation and medical records management. Extensive background in acute care procedures including airway management, IV insertion, phlebotomy, and laboratory specimen processing. Prior experience working within Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly preferred; familiarity with hospital medicine practices is advantageous. Knowledge of infectious disease protocols, infection control practices, and OSHA safety standards relevant to emergency healthcare delivery. Experience providing care for diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health patients, individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities, and neonatal resuscitation procedures is desirable. Ability to adapt quickly across multiple healthcare environments such as urgent care clinics, inpatient units, outpatient facilities, or home health settings while maintaining high-quality patient care standards.
