Job Description

Position Overview This multifaceted RN role oversees Infection Control, Employee Health, Swing Bed coordination, Care Planning, and Provider Credentialing. The position ensures regulatory compliance, high‑quality patient care, safety, and effective coordination across hospital departments. Key Responsibilities Infection Control Conduct facility-wide infection surveillance and reporting (including NHSN). Lead Infection Control Committee with facility pathologist. Develop policies, update manuals, and educate staff. Implement infection prevention measures and report communicable diseases. Employee Health Coordinate new‑hire physicals, vaccinations, and drug screens. Track employee illnesses, exposures, and work‑related injuries. Maintain confidential employee health files and provide OSHA‑related training. Swing Bed Coordinator Manage admissions/discharges and verify insurance. Conduct eligibility assessments and develop care plans. Facilitate interdisciplinary communication and ensure compliance with regulations. Care Plan Coordinator Oversee patient assessments and create/update regulatory-compliant care plans. Manage Medicare/Medicaid schedules, coverage starts, and denial notifications. Recommend clinical and procedural improvements to leadership. Credentialing Specialist Collect, verify, and maintain provider credentials and privileges. Conduct primary-source verification and track license renewals. Support audits, onboarding, and compliance reporting. Qualifications Current Kansas RN license (required). Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred. Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in acute, long‑term, or related care. Experience in restorative/rehabilitative nursing preferred. CPR certification; strong computer and regulatory knowledge. Skills & Competencies Strong critical thinking, organization, and communication skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and respond quickly in high‑pressure situations. Professional, patient‑centered demeanor and ability to collaborate across teams. Working Conditions On‑call responsibilities with 30‑minute response expectation. Exposure to illness, emergencies, and unpredictable situations. Requires flexibility in schedule and ability to handle interruptions.
