Job Description

Essential Functions:
Performs triage by collecting current information, as well as a detailed patient history and determine priority of care based on physical, psychological and social needs, using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI), triage level system. Performs patient care and patient care procedures, including IV therapy, wound cleansing and dressing, immobilizations, medication administration and assessments, reassessments and discharge education. Manages basic life support needs and stabilizes the patient until seen by the provider, based upon nursing standards and protocols Provides any and all
ACLS/PALS
interventions Works directly under physicians, assisting with exams, diagnostic testing and treatment Documents on the EMR systems, appropriately and completely on patients. Delegates tasks to Paramedics, LPNs & CNAs, as needed Communicates and collaborates with other staff members, patients, family/visitors and other departments within the hospital Any and all other duties assigned by Nurse Manager
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Associates or Bachelor's in Nursing from an accredited nursing school Licensure in Kentucky or Compact State License
BLS, ACLS, PALS. TNCC
preferred or required within 1 year of employment.
Experience:
Two years minimum experience in ED required
