Category Nursing - RN-Stepdown Job Type Contract Stepdown Registered Nurses are essential for providing high-quality transitional care to patients who need close monitoring in a progressive stepdown environment. This contract position offers an opportunity to work with patients recovering from acute conditions, supporting their journey from intensive care to general medical-surgical units.
Key Qualifications:
Active, unencumbered RN license required Proven clinical experience in a stepdown or progressive care unit Strong cardiac and respiratory assessment skills Solid background in telemetry, hemodynamic monitoring, and complex patient care Ability to quickly adapt in a fast-paced environment Proficient in electronic medical records and documentation BLS and ACLS certifications (current and valid) Excellent communication, critical thinking, and collaboration abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to adults transitioning from intensive care Monitor vital signs, interpret cardiac rhythms, and assess changes in patient status Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary staff, physicians, and family members Deliver medication administration, wound care, and relevant treatments per orders Educate patients and their loved ones regarding care plans and progress Document interventions, observations, and patient responses clearly and accurately Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions This contract position is ideal for an RN with a passion for stepdown nursing and a commitment to exceptional patient outcomes.
