  • Dupont, located in Louisville, KY, is an 88-bed hospital offering a full continuum of inpatient, extended care, partial hospitalization and outpatient services for children and adults.
Job Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) participates in treatment planning as a member of interdisciplinary team; provides assessment of patients' psychiatric and medical status; administers medication and medical treatment as prescribed by physician; assess, direct and intervene in crisis situations; provide and direct milieu management, and additional tasks as needed. Best candidates for this position will have behavioral health experience, a strong work-ethic, and highly consistent timeliness and attendance! Responsibilities Conduct thorough assessments of patients' mental and physical health, documenting findings accurately in medical records. Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team. Administer medications and monitor patients for side effects or adverse reactions. Provide education to patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and coping strategies. Engage in discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition for patients returning to their community or home environment. Maintain accurate medical documentation Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of best practices within the psychiatric unit. Skills and Competencies Previous experience in a mental health hospital setting is preferred. Knowledge of Trauma-Informed Care is preferred. Familiarity with medical documentation practices is advantageous. Experience in discharge planning and working with diverse patient populations is highly valued. Strong clinical and nursing skills Knowledge of aliment-related issues affecting mental health is a plus. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective patient interaction. Strong collaborative skills and ability to work effectively with others Ability to exhibit empathy, respect and compassion that involve understanding and care for patients. Requirements Graduate of accredited school of nursing (Associate's Degree) required. BSN preferred. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Kentucky required. Minimum of one (1) year related experience required. Psychiatric nursing experience is preferred. Current CPR Certification required

PM or Night Shift:
7 PM
  • 7 AM (Rotating Weekends Required) Up to 30% shift differential for hours worked from 7pm
  • 7am Must be available to attend the full hospital and departmental orientations: Week 1:
M-F 8 AM
  • 4:30 PM / Week 2: 3 days 9 AM
  • 3 PM / Week 3: M
  • Th 9 AM
