1 Description American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Operating Room position requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS certification. Details Works in a multidiscipline surgical services department with four operating rooms and four procedure rooms serving over 9,000 patients annually Provides care for endoscopy, pain management, ENT, general surgery, hand and foot, and orthopedic procedures Day shift schedule with variable start times, mainly 10:45-11:15 but sometimes 6:30-7:00 or 8:30-9:00, working 12-hour shifts three days per week Requires one weekend shift per month Requires two call shifts per month Requires holiday shift coverage if a holiday falls within the contract dates Requirements Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license Current BLS certification required ACLS and PALS certification required ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred No prior nursing experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred Additional Information Provide direct patient care throughout the surgical process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care Perform comprehensive patient assessments considering culture, age, and developmental level Educate patients and families on procedures, treatments, and discharge planning Delegate and oversee patient care tasks performed by other team members Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities and core measure initiatives Collaborate closely with an interprofessional care team to coordinate individualized treatment plans First-time travelers are welcome to apply
