Abbeville General Hospital is hiring for an Mother/Baby RN (Registered Nurse)

Position:

Full time RN position for Obstetrics for night shift (7p-7a) !!$20,000 Sign On Bonus!!! We are a family centered care unit where you will care for both a postpartum mother and her newborn. The Mother/Baby RN cares for patients after vaginal and/or cesarean delivery and is skilled in assessing, education, and caring for postpartum mothers and newborns. After delivery, the nurse helps mother and baby with skin-to-skin bonding and breastfeeding. Other duties include fundal assessment, postpartum hemorrhage risk and management, and breastfeeding assistance and education. Newborn head to toe assessments, hearing screens, and blood draws are examples of newborn care. You will assist in educating mother and her support person on all care for bay. Educate and assist new mothers with physical and emotional needs during the postpartum period, while in the hospital setting. You will also instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatments. RN (Registered Nurse)

Required Experience:

Previous Mother/Baby experience is preferred. RN (Registered Nurse)

Educational Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing Current/Active Louisiana State Board of Nursing Licensure Current/Active CPR certification RN (Registered Nurse)

Physical Requirements:

Medium Work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor constitutes a maximum lift of 21-50 pounds on occasion and/or a maximum lift of 11-25 pounds on a frequent basis May be required to assist in the turning, lifting, or moving patients as well as walking about from patients' rooms, as well as to and from various hospital areas RN (Registered Nurse)
