Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract role serving K-12 students as a school nurse in the vibrant New Orleans area. This position spans the 2026-2027 academic year, with a 35-hour workweek (Monday-Friday, 7 hours per day with a 30-minute unpaid lunch). Placement will be in 1-2 schools based on district priorities, so a flexible attitude and dedication to meeting student needs wherever assigned is essential.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Active RN license (BSN preferred; ASN accepted) Previous school nurse experience is
REQUIRED
Strong skills in trach and g-tube care, diabetes management, and medical record keeping Proficiency with IEPs, health screenings, and training non-medical staff Excellent communication and delegation abilities Tech-savvy, with experience using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Sheets Passion for working with children and collaborating within a school environment Ability to adapt to school assignments across East and West Bank locations as needed Must pass a pre-screen, district drug screening, and fingerprinting
