Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans. Educate patients on childbirth options, pain management techniques, postpartum care, and newborn care practices including tube feeding and infant assessments. Maintain detailed medical documentation adhering to HIPAA regulations and hospital standards for medical records. Respond swiftly to emergency situations such as obstetric complications or neonatal emergencies within a Level I or Level II trauma center setting. Experience Proven experience working in labor & delivery units within hospital environments with familiarity in neonatal resuscitation procedures. Critical care experience preferred, especially in settings involving acute pain management, trauma medicine, or ICU experience related to maternal or neonatal care. Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or Athenahealth for accurate documentation. Hands-on experience with medical-surgical nursing practices including suturing, catheter care, phlebotomy, and medication administration. Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, and physiological knowledge related to pregnancy and childbirth. Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is advantageous for providing inclusive patient care. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and other relevant credentials are required to ensure readiness for emergency response.
