Job Summary:
Our Nurses are responsible for providing quality nursing care to clients based on individualized needs, according to dependent and independent nursing functions and conformance with recognized nursing techniques and established standards. You must comply with established policies and procedures. Applicants will be exposed to highly confidential information which requires use of discretion. Contact involves Executive Staff, fellow staff members, and representatives of other agencies. This position reports directly to the Director of Nursing.
Requirements:
Ability to interact with a multi-disciplinary team to assist in facets of the recovery program relating to physical health. Knowledge of addiction issues and the 12-Step Recovery Program. Alcohol and addictive drugs and their physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual impact on the individual and their family. Knowledge of emergency procedures used in case of alcohol and/or drug overdose including First Aid and CPR. Knowledge of Federal, State and Municipal laws and/or regulations that regulate the treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction, including: Confidentiality, Patient Rights, Professional Code of Ethics and Discrimination Demonstrates Proficiency in Communication, observation & Written skills. Knowledge of Drug-Free Workplace Policies. Essential Responsibilities Observes and evaluates the physical and emotional status of clients and takes action where necessary. Prepares and monitors medications and treatments, and documents them in KIPU, our EMR system. Performs all job responsibilities in accordance with prescribed safety and infection control procedures. Provides medical care to clients enrolled in our outpatient treatment program. Triage client medical issues and takes action where appropriate. Schedule appointments as needed. Documents client status on summaries, nurses' notes and other reports as needed in EMR. Develops curriculum and performs training for all DPH mandated education to staff. Assists and coordinates medical care with staff MD and psychiatrist.
Experience:
Experience working with Substance Use patients 1+ year of experience as a staff nurse
Required Qualifications/Licensure & Certifications:
RN Licensure CPR certified
Education:
