Job Description

Category Schools - RN Nurse Job Type Contract Seeking an experienced nursing professional ready to make a difference in a school setting working one-on-one with a student in need of specialized care. This contract role involves providing essential support for a non-verbal, wheelchair-bound student with seizure activity. Your attention and expertise will be crucial to ensure the student's safety and well-being during bus transportation to and from school.
Role Details:
Contract position, located near North Dartmouth, MA Immediate start: this is a backfill opening Monday through Friday, 7:00 am - 9:00 am for morning bus rides, and 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm (occasionally later) in the afternoon
Ideal Qualifications:
Current Massachusetts nursing license: RN, LPN, or LVN (school or pediatric experience strongly preferred) Experience caring for non-verbal, wheelchair-dependent individuals Skilled in seizure management and emergency protocols Ability to create a safe, compassionate, and responsive environment for a student with complex needs Strong, clear communication and documentation skills Dedicated, reliable, and adaptable to changing scenarios or extended hours as needed
Responsibilities:
Accompany and supervise the student on the school bus for both morning and afternoon transit Remain vigilant for signs of seizure activity and respond per care protocols Ensure safe wheelchair transport, transfers, and overall student comfort Communicate ongoing needs or observations to school staff and parents Maintain accurate, timely reports on student status and interventions This opportunity offers an impactful way to utilize your clinical skills in a supportive educational environment.
