Essential Job Functions:
  • Conduct interactions with patients, families, and staff in a friendly, courteous, and respectful manner
  • Provide assistance and advocate for privacy and confidentiality
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment for patients and staff
  • Respond promptly and appropriately in emergency situations
  • Ensure compliance with regulations for accreditation and licensure
  • Fulfill all mandatory hospital and department-specific requirements
  • Offer patient care based on current standards, protocols, and evidence-based practice
  • Deliver individualized teaching and foster patient/family readiness for discharge
  • Delegate and supervise nursing interventions as appropriate
  • Communicate relevant patient information to facilitate continuity of care
  • Promote an environment conducive to learning—act as a preceptor or instructor when needed
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to address patient well-being throughout perioperative care
  • Adhere to established sterile techniques, proper instrumentation handling, and specimen labeling
  • Accurately assess, document, and manage patient pain and medication administration
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of accredited nursing program
  • O.R. nursing experience preferred; CNOR certification is an advantage
  • Current MA RN license; ACLS required (BLS accepted with ability to obtain ACLS within 60 days)
  • Strong multitasking skills and the ability to thrive with competing priorities
  • Excellent communication, positive attitude, and flexibility
