9696700-01841 Job Description Step into a meaningful role supporting students with complex medical needs as a contract school nurse. This unique opportunity involves riding the morning school bus route and providing essential care for students with a variety of health concerns, ensuring their safety and comfort during transit.

Key Qualifications:

Current, active MA LPN or RN license Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably in a pediatric, school, or similar setting Confidence and competence in caring for students with g-tubes, tracheostomy care, seizure management, and various medical needs Ability to accurately follow individualized health and transportation care plans Strong communication skills and collaborative approach with school nursing staff

Responsibilities:

Ride the morning school bus, starting at 6:15 AM, supporting students medical needs until the return around 7:45 AM, approximately 7.5 hours per week Implement and monitor care plans, including seizure precautions, medication administration (Valtoco PRN, EpiPen use), oxygen saturation monitoring, oral suctioning, and tracheostomy or g-tube care as needed Foster a safe environment for students throughout transportation Coordinate with school nursing staff to familiarize yourself with each students health requirements and transportation plan Participate in orientation and route shadowing to ensure confidence before working independently Youll make a difference by building rapport with a small caseload and working closely with educators and medical staff to ensure each students day begins and ends safely and positively.
