General DutiesThe Substitute School Nurse is responsible for: Health assessment, medical treatment, and health counseling of studentsMedication administration and oversightDevelopment, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of Individualized Health Care Plans (IHCPs) and medication administration plansCollaboration with healthcare providers, families, and school staff regarding student healthProviding emergency care for injury or sudden illnessPerforming or supervising Massachusetts Department of Public Health mandated health screenings or activitiesMaintaining accurate and comprehensive health records, including electronic documentationPrevention and control of communicable diseases within the schoolsStaffing immunization clinics and other public health-related dutiesOther duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee
