The Swampscott Public School District is seeking substitute school nurses to provide coverage of school health office when permanent nursing staff are unavailable.

PRIMARY ROLE

To provide primary health and emergency care to student's pre-K through grade 12, promote wellness and serve as a resource for health concerns in the school setting. This may or may not be in the absence of the full-time school nurse.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Administers medications and treatments as ordered. Provides care for student and staff illness and accidents. Administers care based on individual health care plans and individual emergency care plans. 4. Serves as liaison between the home and the school regarding student health concerns. Documents all encounters in the Electronic Health Record. Follows communicable disease control procedures and informs administration and/or parents regarding school exclusion and readmission.
