A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Job Description
MDS Nurse Coordinator:
Valid RN License in the state of MA Must have at least 1 year of MDS/MMQ coordinator experience. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a long-term care setting, preferred. Clinical experience, education or specialty skills specific to geriatrics is desired. Strong knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long term care. Great interpersonal skills for effective daily interaction with Residents, family members and all members of the Interdisciplinary Team Must have knowledge in PPS assessment as well as OBRA compliance. Must be a self-starter and a high attention to accuracy and details and possess good time management skills Ability to make independent decisions and follow through with limited supervision.
