MSD, Frederick, Campus, 101 Clarke Place,\r\nFrederick, MD 21705\r\n Main Purpose of Job The MSD nurse is responsible for providing health care for the students and to act as health care liaison between the parents and the school.\r\nPOSITION DUTIES
The\r\nMSD nurse is responsible for providing health care for the students and to act\r\nas health care liaison between the parents and the school. This is a 2nd shift\r\nposition. The nurse will be in regular contact with school staff, dorm staff,\r\nteachers, teacher aides, students and parents/guardians as well as providers,\r\nmedical facilities and private duty nurses. Administer medications prescribed\r\nfor medical conditions or injuries. Assess, evaluate, and monitor students'\r\ncurrent medical and emotional health status and identify nursing needs of\r\nstudents. Maintain accurate and adequate records of nursing care, observations\r\nand treatment according to established procedures. Maintain the Student Health\r\nCenter to ensure a safe, operational and compliant environment for patient\r\ncare.� Provide auxiliary duties as needed.\r\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Determined by the Maryland State Board of Nursing under the licensing requirements for Registered Nurses. \r\nExperience:
None. \r\nDESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skilled in American Sign Language.\r\n�\r\nTwo years experience working with children either in a\r\nschool or hospital setting.\r\n�\r\nAble to work and make decisions independently.\r\n�\r\nOne year of experience in school, critical care, or\r\ncommunity nursing.\r\n�\r\nKnowledge or ability to navigate Google Workspace.\r\n�\r\nExperience with PowerSchool or another student\r\ninformation system.\r\nLICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS 1.
Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as a�Registered Nurse from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson�Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215 or possess a current multi-state license�in�party states that candidates have declared as primary states of residence.\r\n2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland. \r\n3. Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and maintain current certification. \r\nSPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
\r\n1. Employees in this classification are subject to call-in and, therefore, will be required to provide the facility with a phone number at which they can be reached.\r\n\r\n\r\n2. Employees in the classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with the Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.\r\n\r\n\r\n3. Candidates must be willing to learn American Sign\r\nLanguage and become conversational within two years.\r\n\r\n\r\n4. New hires are subject to a criminal background\r\ninvestigation at their own expense (Maryland Code, Family Law Article 1,\r\nSections 5-560 - 5-568)\r\n\r\n\r\n5.
