In this vital role, you will oversee patient care delivery, delegate responsibilities to nursing staff, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including Maryland's COMAR assisted living regulations. As a Delegating Nurse, you will coordinate clinical activities, manage medical documentation, and uphold the highest standards of safety and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, COMAR, and state healthcare laws. Responsibilities Supervise and delegate nursing tasks to licensed and unlicensed staff, ensuring safe and effective patient care. Oversee patient assessments, develop care plans, and monitor treatment progress in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Maintain accurate medical documentation, including medical records and electronic health records (EHR), ensuring compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations. Ensure all nursing activities adhere to Maryland COMAR assisted living regulations, state healthcare laws, long-term care regulations, and professional standards. Provide direct patient care when necessary, demonstrating expertise in physiology and anatomy to support complex medical needs. Manage administrative clinical supervision duties such as staff scheduling, training, performance evaluations, and compliance audits. Utilize EMR/EHR systems proficiently for documentation, medication administration records (MAR), and communication across care teams. Build genuine, trusting relationships with residents and families through a warm, loving presence and excellent bedside manner. Requirements Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing within the state of Maryland. Proven management experience within a clinical setting, including nursing leadership or supervisory roles. Maryland Delegating Nurse license ( Can be acquired after hired) Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical documentation practices. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) management systems and medical records maintenance. Comprehensive understanding of HIPAA regulations, patient privacy laws, and Maryland COMAR assisted living and long-term care regulations. Ability to interpret complex medical information accurately and communicate effectively with patients and staff. Strong leadership skills with the confidence to make tough decisions under pressure, balanced with a genuinely compassionate approach to care.
