Details
  • Work setting is a hospital-based Emergency Department with 46 beds and an average daily census of 140
  • Patient population spans all age groups with diagnoses including chest pain, stroke, sepsis, cardiac arrest, trauma, respiratory illness, and respiratory arrest
  • Patient ratio is 1:4, up to 1:5 with lower acuity patients
  • Specialized equipment includes a Belmont rapid infuser for trauma, Giraffe warmer for neonates, and Lucas device for cardiac arrests
  • Epic is the EMR in use and experience is required
  • Schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts (19:30-08:00)
  • Every other weekend is required
  • Holiday coverage required as scheduled
  • Floating within the specialty is required as needed
  • No scheduled on-call required Requirements
  • Active RN license for the state of Maryland (standard or compact) currently in hand
  • Current certifications required:
BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH
Stroke Scale (NIHSS), CPI, and TNCC
  • Minimum 3 years of ED nursing experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers with 5+ years of ED experience may be considered)
  • Epic EMR experience required Additional Information
  • Provide emergency nursing care across a broad acuity range including high-acuity trauma, cardiac arrest, and stroke patients
  • Time-off requests should be disclosed at the time of initial consideration
