9664470-04330 Job Description An exciting contract position is available for a skilled Registered Nurse to support a single kindergarten student with specialized medical needs near Augusta, ME. In this unique role, your nursing expertise will directly impact a student with Dravets syndrome and Autism. Youll provide important medical, behavioral, and daily activity support as part of a dedicated team, helping to ensure a safe and supportive school environment. The assignment begins as soon as possible and runs through June 10, 2027, with hours from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Key Qualifications:

Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Maine required Experience working in school settings or with pediatric populations is highly desirable Ability to work independently and collaborate with educational staff Strong communication and observational skills

Primary Responsibilities:

Accompany student to and from school daily, providing 1:1 medical supervision Monitor for seizure activity and administer care based on established seizure management plan Collaborate with Ed Tech staff, providing seizure protocol training and support Advise staff on environmental considerations to reduce seizure risk (temperature triggers) Document nursing observations and contribute to behavioral data tracking when possible Serve as the schools nurse, supporting general health needs, until the student returns to campus (anticipated late October) Remain flexible to fulfill general school nurse duties as needed, as you are the only RN at the site
