A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Summary:
The Registered Nurse - Wound Care role is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting care in the treatment of patients with complex wounds, ostomies, or continence conditions. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing program required. Bachelor's Degree required (BA or BSN).
License/Certifications:
Current applicable state(s) license as a Registered Professional Nurse required. Current Wound and Ostomy Nurse Certification (CWON) required or must achieve within one year of start date. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Positions in Home Care will require a valid Driver's license.
Experience:
One year of relevant experience preferred.
