9664470-04864 Job Description Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting a kindergarten student as a dedicated one-to-one nurse in a vibrant school environment. This role requires a Maine-licensed Registered Nurse to provide specialized care for a child with Dravets syndrome and Autism, ensuring their safety, health, and engagement throughout the school day. The assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through June 10, 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 nursing care for a student, including riding to and from school with them daily. Monitor for seizure activity and respond according to the established medical plan. Collaborate with and advise school staff on seizure response protocols and considerations for outdoor activities due to temperature-triggered seizures. Complete detailed nursing observations and document findings each day. Support the students team, including aiding behavioral data collection when possible. Serve as the primary school nurse for the site while the student is not in attendance, handling general health office responsibilities.

What Were Looking For:

Current Registered Nurse license in Maine. Experience (or strong interest) in pediatric or school-based nursing; prior work with students with chronic health conditions is a plus. Strong communication and collaboration abilities. Willingness to be attentive and proactive in a school setting with young children. Flexibility to serve both in a specialized 1:1 capacity and a general school nurse role.
