A Registered Nurse provides medical care and treatment, educates patients about their conditions, and provides emotional support to patients and families. Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Work Schedule:
Traditionally Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm during the academic year.
Salary:
Targeted Salary Range:
$49,000-$55,000
Travel:
No travel
Brief Statement of Duties Brief Statement of Duties:
Assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans and maintain medical records. Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent or disabled patients. May advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management.
Minimum Qualifications Required Education:
Associate's Degree Discipline/Degree Area:
Nursing Required Specialized Training/Certifications:
Associates or BSN degree. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Michigan.
Required Minimum Work Experience:
Previous work-related skill, knowledge or experience. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the
Position Duties:
Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases and deformities to include symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions and preventive health-care measures. Customer and personal service-knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Oral and written communication-talking, listening and writing to and with others to convey information effectively. Service orientation-actively look for ways to help people. Interpersonal relationship skills. Attention to detail. Ability to document information concisely, completely and clearly.
