Shift:
Third Shift Interlochen Center for the Arts is seeking a compassionate and collaborative Registered Nurse to join our Health Services team in a truly unique residential arts environment. This full-time, year-round third shift position consists of three 12-hour shifts per week plus an every-other-weekend rotation, offering the opportunity to care for creative, highly motivated students from around the world while maintaining a predictable schedule with no on-call responsibilities and most major holidays off during academic breaks. Nurses at Interlochen support boarding high school students during the academic year and camp students during the summer, providing care for everything from everyday illnesses and injuries to chronic conditions and urgent medical needs. Working alongside a close-knit team of providers, nurses, and health assistants, this role blends meaningful patient care with the energy and purpose of an arts-centered community where relationships matter and every day looks a little different.
Essential Duties:
Work with a team consisting of Healthcare Providers, nurses, nursing assistants and administrative staff to care for students Administer medications to students Evaluate students who present to health services Make sound nursing judgments within scope of practice Communicate effectively with students/parents and other stakeholders both on and off campus Document visits of students to health services Monitor students who spend the night in health services Learn and master electronic EMR system and document appropriately Respond to on-campus urgent and emergent situations Assist with employee related on-the-job accidents, and guidance with worker compensation Assist HR with annual employee required screenings Understands and abides by

Regulations Experience and Skills:
Current licensed nurse in the state of Michigan RN preferred, will consider ADN or BS depending on experience Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in hospital, doctor's office, or school nursing environment Good pediatric assessment skills Ability to work within a team and to make independent decisions required Previous work in school environment helpful Ability to perform assessments, make decisions about dispensing OTC medications per protocol, consult with providers as needed, draw labs (training provided), and perform other duties as required to serve the population
