Works in hospitals, schools, clinics or community health centers. Works under the supervision of a physician or other specialist, and serves as the primary point of care for patients in a hospital setting. May specialize in emergency room work, or treatment for a particular condition, or specialize in working with infants, the elderly or other patient groups. May work as an advanced practice specialists and prescribe medications in addition to offering specialty care.

Position Summary:
The registered nurse is a professional nurse who coordinates the delivery of nursing care for monitored patients during their hospital stay including cardiac monitoring, hemodynamic stabilization, responsive to emergent situations and care of evidence-based medicine patients. The registered nurse ensures that quality nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the Michigan Department of Public Health, the medical center and nursing department standards. Utilizing the nursing process, functions primarily in direct patient care. The registered nurse participates in maintaining a safe patient care environment, maintains patient privacy, dignity, confidentiality and respects patient's rights.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Performs purposeful hourly rounding including:
Pain, Position, Personal needs and Possessions 2. Applies the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and discharge needs of patient/family 3. Triages patients in accordance with Emergency Severity Index (ESI) minor to critical recommendations
Required:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Must possess valid State of Michigan Nursing License BLS certified ACLS certified within 6 months of hire Completed and is certified (up-to-date) in
