In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients across various medical-surgical units, ensuring high standards of patient safety, comfort, and recovery. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical expertise, including experience with EMR systems such as Epic and Cerner, and demonstrate proficiency in managing complex patient needs within fast-paced hospital environments. Your contributions will directly impact patient outcomes through diligent assessment, effective intervention, and compassionate care delivery. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Administer medications and treatments accurately, including IV infusions, injections, suturing, and wound care, adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Monitor patients' physiological responses to treatments and interventions, managing acute pain and providing appropriate comfort measures. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans aligned with hospital standards and patient needs. Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection, radiology procedures (e.g., CT scans), and catheterizations (urinary or vascular). Support discharge planning by educating patients on medication administration, wound care, nutrition, mobility, and follow-up appointments. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining accurate medical documentation and safeguarding patient confidentiality. Participate in emergency response activities including airway management and critical care interventions within Level I or Level II trauma center settings. Engage in ongoing professional development through training on ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), MDS assessments for long-term care residents, and other relevant certifications. Maintain proficiency in specialized areas such as geriatric care, trauma medicine, infectious disease management, hospice & palliative medicine, or behavioral health as applicable.
Requirements:
3+ Year of Experience in Med/Surg or similar specialties
- [Required] Prior travel experience
- [Required] At least 1 year of experience in a Trauma Level I or II facility
- [Required] Cerner EMR Experience
- [Highly Preferred]
