Job Description General Summary:
RN Registered Nurse, Neuro ICU Henry Ford Providence Novi Full Time Nights, 36 hours/week Sign on bonus eligible: Up to $7,500 for FT Nights Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
BSN preferred. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans. Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED
Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing. Health care provider certification (BCLS).

IBCLC certification must be acquired within 12 months of hire & maintained. Additional Information Henry Ford Providence Novi Hospital is a nationally certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, equipped 24/7 to manage the advanced surgical and medical needs of our patients. An integral part of being a stroke certified hospital is the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit-5B. This is an 18 bed, mixed acuity unit where 10 beds are reserved for ICU patients and 8 beds for patients who have been stepped down from the NSICU often cared for by NSICU nurses for continuity of care progression. Nurses on this unit care for the complex neuro-critically ill patient requiring advanced neuromonitoring and neuro assessment. Common patient diagnoses include subarachnoid hemorrhage, subdural hematomas, brain tumors, status epilepticus, brain trauma, and spinal cord injuries. Treatment modalities in the NSICU include intracranial pressure monitoring and external ventricular drainage systems. Nurses on this unit are NIHSS certified, ACLS certified, and many have Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) training. Specialized training and education including critical care classes are provided during orientation and a learning environment is supported daily on our NSICU.
