Outpatient Oncology Infusion Clinic•Trinity Health Ann Arbor Candidates may train at all three locations:
Ann Arbor, Canton, Brighton Hours:
8-4:30pm (flexibility with start time)
Ann Arbor:
Open Monday through Friday 8am•6:30pm.
Canton:
Open Monday through Friday 8•4:30pm.
Brighton:
Open Monday through Friday 8-4:30pm •Our Infusion Clinics are currently closed on Weekends and Holidays•
Overview of Infusion Clinic:
Our Infusion Clinic provides a variety of treatments to both Oncology and Non-Oncology patients. For our Oncology patients, these treatments include chemotherapy, Immunotherapy, IV hydration, blood products, Injections, Iron, phlebotomies, Bone Marrow Biopsies, and other infusion therapies related to supportive care for these patients. These treatments are provided to both our Hematology-Oncology Patients and our Gynecology Oncology Patients. Many of these patients may be on a Clinical Research trial or receiving combined modality treatment with Radiation Therapy. We also support many other specialties such as Rheumatology, Neurology, OB, Huron Gastro, Primary Care providers, etc and the specialized care required for these patients. Our Infusion Clinic is supported by our Infusion Nurses, Medical Assistants, Infusion Schedulers, Nurse Coordinator, Education Coordinator, and Infusion Manager.
Job Duties:
Our Infusion MA's provide support to the nursing team, while also providing care to our Infusion patients. Our MA's are trained to give SubQ injections, access Ports & start IV's. Our MA's support the nursing team by obtaining Vital signs, Height/Weights, ordering supplies, stocking, cleaning bays, answering call lights, bring patients back and any other delegated tasks. We utilize EPIC as our
EMR REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an accredited school or at least 1 year of work experience as an MA or in a similar patient care role. Will consider a student in a medical focused field of study that is able to meet the scheduling needs of the department (SEE ABOVE)
Experience:
No previous experience required if MA training has been completed. Prior experience in an Oncology clinic preferred.
Licensure:
BLS annual certificate.
