2 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced L&D RN for a Mother Baby Center position at an acute care teaching hospital in Coon Rapids, MN, requiring at least 2 years of L&D and postpartum experience. Details Work setting is an acute care teaching hospital and Level 2 Trauma Center with 258 staffed beds Position is based in the Mother Baby Center, where RNs rotate between labor and postpartum care Average daily census is approximately 8 deliveries per day and 15 postpartum patients per day Schedule is 3x12-hour shifts, rotating days and nights (7:00-19:30 / 19:00-7:30) Every other weekend is required No on-call requirements Floating within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals may be required Charting is performed in Epic (Excellian) Scrubs are provided by the unit No parking fees at this facility Requirements Active MN RN license required (pending license accepted) Current BLS and NRP certifications required Minimum 2 years of L&D experience with postpartum experience required Sterile vaginal exam experience required Fetal monitoring experience required, including external and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration, and recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns Experience administering Pitocin (oxytocin) required Experience managing and administering epidural anesthesia required At least 1 supervisor reference required for consideration Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible Additional Information RNs rotate between labor and postpartum assignments within the Mother Baby Center Pre-start orientation modules are required to be completed before the first day of the assignment RTO requests of no more than 5 days are preferred Candidates who have previously worked at this facility as permanent staff or per diem must have been separated for at least 3 months from their last shift to be eligible First-time travelers are welcome to apply Block scheduling is not available for this position
